Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.
The word “chiropractic” comes from two Greek words: cheir, which means “hand,” and praxis, which means “practice” or “action.” The idea is to use the hands to adjust and manipulate the spine and other parts of the body to treat illness.
Therefore chiropractors practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
Furthermore, the World Health Organization has stated that chiropractic care can provide a cost effective way to treat neuromusculoskeletal disorders.
Chiropractors locate and remove spinal misalignments or spinal fixations to improve the musculoskeletal and the nervous systems with the desired result of improved patient health.
